Build your water damage business

a water damage restoration contractor, one of your key tasks is finding the unique things
that differentiate you from the competition.
However, water damage work can be slow for new companies. Many
contractors visit the local insurance offices and explain to them their
24-hour emergency services and their use of the best equipment and training
in the industry, but the question is how often insurance agents hear the very
same speech from other restoration companies.
Continuing to educate yourself in the industry is key. Taking courses may
enhance your services.
Learn to network
As you network to drum up business, do the following:
- Look at all the different sources from which your business may come.
- Try to establish relationships with other restoration companies in
your area.
When storm surges pass through towns, restoration companies are often
forced to put people on a waiting list.
By establishing a rapport with your competition, you may be able to pick
up some extraction work, or better yet, mitigate the whole job.
Local plumbers are another area to explore. Often, they are the first
called when there is a water or plumbing problem in the home.
