Q. I am a graduate of P.C.I., I am currently working on a house
which contains mold in their den, the problem is not with me I follow all
P.C.I. guidelines and use all P.C.I. products, the problem is with the
builder, after 4 years he has not fixed the leak in the roof, every time
it rains or snows it starts leaking in to the den. Just on Wednesday he
had his roofers come out and fix it so I could start spraying my Coverage
Plus to kill the mold, which I did on Thursday. It's Friday now and I came
to spray my applications of Timbor and the roof is leaking again primarily
where our mold occurrence is. My question to you is, do you have a mold
lawyer that is familiar with the practices of P.C.I. that you would
recommend, because I follow P.C.I. mold tips and teachings to the letter.
Also what's bad about this is my client is allergic to mold, in the last
year or so she was diagnosed with cancer, which who knows the mold could
have attributed to her cancer and their house is probably $350,000+ which
being only 4 years old should not be leaking like this. Let me know what
you think, I look forward to seeing you at the continuing education
seminar in Las Vegas in April. [March 27, 2004]

You ought to send a certified letter to your client that politely explains
that your mold remediation efforts are for no avail if the client does not
get the roof leak taken of. You might suggest to your client that she
should find the best possible roofing contractor in her area to take care
of the problem correctly and effectively and permanently. You might help
her find the best roofer [and be sure to check for roofer complaints filed
with BBB and contractor licensing board]. She could then talk to her
attorney about getting reimbursement for such expense from the builder in
view of the builder's failure to do the job correctly and compensation for
the resulting mold damage to the house because of the continual
re-occurrence of the leaky roof. If your client definitely wants to sue
the builder, she can use the search function explained on
http://www.moldlawyer.com to find an environmental attorney in her
area.
