Here are a few of the molds considered to be unhealthy in the workplace by the U.S. Occupational Safety & Health Administration [OHSA]

Absidia

The U.S. Government's O.S.H.A. agency lists the following as the health effects of Absidia mold: Allergen, Irritant, Hypersensitivity pneumonitis, Dermatitis

Alternaria

The U.S. Government’s O.S.H.A. agency lists the following as the health effects of Alternaria mold: Allergen, Irritant, Hypersensitivity pneumonitis, Dermatitis

Aspergillus

The U.S. Government's O.S.H.A. Agency lists the following as all being allergens and irritants and a cause of Hypersensi- tivity pneumonitis and Dermatitis: Aspergillus flavipes, Aspergillus flavus, Aspergillus fumigatus, Aspergillus glaucus, Aspergillus nidulans, Aspergillus niger, Aspergillus ochraceus, and Aspergillus versicolor.

Aureobasidium

Aureobasidium is a known Type I and Type III allergen that can sometimes cause infections in the human skin, nails, and eyes. The U.S. Government's O.S.H.A. Agency lists both Aureobasidium and Aureobasidium pullulans as an allergen and irritant, and as a cause of Hypersensitivity pneumonitis and Dermatitis.

Coccidioides immitis

Coccidioides immitis   is on the U.S. Government Dept. of Human Services list of biological agents and toxins that have the potential to pose a severe threat to public health and safety and that can potentially be utilized by terrorists.

Curvularia

The U.S. Government's O.H.S.A. agency lists the following as the health effects of curvularia: Allergen, Irritant, Hypersensitivity pneumonitis, Dermatitis

Mucor

The U.S Government’s O.H.S.A. agency lists the following as the health effects of mucor: Allergen, Irritant, Hypersensitivity pneumonitis, Dermatitis

Penicillium

The U.S. Government's OSHA Agency lists the following as the health effects of Penicillium mold:  Allergen, Irritant, Hypersensitivity pneumonitis, Dermatitis

Verticillium

The U.S. Government's O.H.S.A. agency classifies Verticillium as an allergen and irritant and as a cause of Hypersensitivity pneumonitis and Dermatitis. 

Yeast

The U.S. Government's O.H.S.A. agency lists yeast as an allergen and irritant and as a cause of Hypersensitivity pneumonitis and Dermatitis.
